Cody Kalina is an experienced English teacher, college professor, tutor, and college coach. Cody began tutoring students in academic writing while studying English and Writing & Rhetoric at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.
After graduation Cody was a successful middle school and high school teacher in Palm Beach County, FL. For the next ten years Cody went on to continue his impassioned work with students at LIU Brooklyn, Columbia University, and City University of New York (CUNY). Currently a full-time lecturer in English and Urban Studies, Cody is thrilled to continue his teaching, mentoring, and guidance.
Cody specializes in helping high school and college students improve their writing skills, and preparing students for success inside and outside of the classroom in high school, college, and beyond.

I provide individualized sessions to meet the student’s needs, but all work is rooted in literacy skills with a minimum level. Students should be in grades 8-12, college-aged, or adults!

Yes. The scope of work in test preparation varies for each test and student and I am experienced in verbal and writing based standardized testing, including, but not limited to NYS Regents, AP Exams, ACT, SAT, and GRE

Yes. Any class where you have to write, I can help, including but not limited to history/social studies, philosophy, and urban studies.
